ABOUT THE PAULS

Paul Ollinger quit his job at Facebook to chase his comedy dream. (Don’t ever do that.) This highly unprofitable decision has allowed him to headline major clubs like Carolines on Broadway, Cobbs (SF), and Zanies (Nashville). He has performed at the Hollywood Improv and Comedy Cellar, headlined his own show in the 20th Annual New York Comedy Festival, and has shared the stage with stars such as Norm Macdonald, Dave Attell, and Chelsea Handler.

Paul is the host of the Reasonably Happy podcast (fka, Crazy Money) on which he explores the connection between money, happiness, work, and meaning in conversations with some of the world’s most interesting people. Previous guests include Judd Apatow, LL COOL J, Moby, and winners of the Nobel Prize, Heisman Trophy, and Olympic gold medals. He has just published a collection of essays, also titled Reasonably Happy in which he shares humorous, thoughtful, and sometimes touching insights from over 200 of these interviews.

Paul lives in New York City with his wife, two teenagers, and French bulldogs, Theo and Colonel Tom Parker.

Paul F

Chicago based Comedian Farahvar delights audiences with his unique, quick witted dry humor, centered on being an aging bachelor and former litigator. After becoming a staple on the Chicago Comedy Scene for years at his home club Laugh Factory, he began touring, first as a feature for headliners like Demetri Martin and Gary Gulman, and later as a headliner. With no manager or agent, he managed to build a following in multiple cities, even selling out rooms in Chicago, Rockford, Denver, Milwaukee, Scottsdale, Sarasota and Tampa in the last two years.

He was runner up in the Chicago Reader for Best Stand up Comedian in 2021 and was voted "Top 40 Up and Coming Comedians" in 2017. Prior to being a comedian, Farahvar was a trial litigator, earning the "Top 40 under 40" honor in Illinois. His podcast SINGLES ONLY! (SWSW 2020, was voted Best Podcast in 2021 (Chicago Reader) and he was a regular guest host on WGN Radio. He played "Karam Haddad" on NBC's "Chicago Med." His Dry Bar special “Always a Groomsman" dropped in April, 2023 and his new special “Middlewestern, Middle Eastern” with Helium Comedy Studios dropped in April, 2024. He was one of two Americans invited to the Halifax Comedy Festival in May, 2024.

CLUB RULES

Are there any age restrictions?

The Comedy Club at Duckworth's shows are 18 and over. All parties must have valid government-issued IDs to enter the building. We also ID for the purchase of all alcohol.

Is there a drink minimum?

The Comedy Club at Duckworth's requires that you purchase two items from the menu when you come to see a show. This can be any combination of food/beverage and does NOT include items purchased in The Cellar or at the Duckworth's Grill & Taphouse downstairs.

Please Note: If you choose not to order anything in the showroom, there is a $3.50 charge per person per each item until the 2 item minimum is met. This charge covers our costs so we can continue providing you with great laughs!

What is the difference between Reserved and General Admission seating?

• General Admission seating is assigned on a first-come, first-sat basis as you enter the showroom. The earlier you arrive, the better your seats will be.

• Reserved seats are assigned for you by management on the night of the show. They are the best seats available for your party size at the time they are assigned.

Please Note: We do not offer a standing room section and cannot take seating requests or guarantee seats in a specific location.

All tables are in a "community seating" arrangement, so you may end up seating with other groups.

How can I make sure my party sits together?

• While we cannot guarantee seats together, General Admission groups should arrive at least 45 minutes before showtime and enter the showroom as a group for the best chance of being seated together.

• Reserved groups who purchase tickets in a single order will automatically be assigned seating together. Reserved ticket holders who purchase separately are not guaranteed seating together. Please see your email confirmation for details if your group purchased separately.

Please Note: We will only seat complete groups. Your group must enter the showroom together to be seated together. In addition, we do not take seating requests and cannot guarantee you seats in a specific location.

When should I arrive?

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to showtime for better seat selection.

Please Note: Late arrivals are not guaranteed seats and are not entitled to a refund. Management reserves the right to release your tickets if you do not arrive by the scheduled showtime. The box office closes 15 minutes after the start of the show at which point no entry will be allowed.

What is the refund policy?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges.

Is the club fully accessible?

No, we are not handicap accessible at this time. We do not have an elevator and are up 1 flight of stairs.
